About Us

Located just north of Columbus our farmhouse was built in 1901 by the Perfect family. It has been said that the original owners were friends of Johnny Appleseed. Changes have been made throughout the years however our goal is to bring back the charm of this farm. We started our homestead as a place for our family to grow and learn all that God has given us. Our farm consists of layer hens, meat birds, pigs to fill the freezer, cattle to fill the freezer, dairy cattle and a beautiful garden that gets bigger every year.

"My joy is the golden sunset giving thanks for another day. Gratitude itself is a source of joy."

Eggs for sale

When we are blessed with abundance we are able to sell eggs. Our hens are fed Non-GMO foods and eggs are sold with the bloom intact for easy storage even at room temperature.

Dutch Belted Dairy

The Dutch Belted breed also known as Lakenvelder originated from Holland in 1838. They are known for their distinctive band of white hair wrapped around the middle. In the 1840s P.T. Barnum exhibited some in his travelling circus and when they were old enough to retire from show business, they set to work providing milk on his farm in New York. The breed became an important dairy breed in the early twentieth century but could not compete with Holsteins. By 1970 they were close to extinction and in 1993 the Livestock Conservancy was active in the recovery of this breed. As of 2021 they are listed as "critical" on the watchlist for conservancy. Although similar in appearance Galloways are beef cattle and not considered at risk like the Dutch Belted dairy cattle.
